Invitations
A successful event depends on getting your guests to the right place at the right time, and planning for the appropriate number of attendees. These are just a few of the things to consider when creating an invitation.
Your invitation can be printed or delivered electronically (don’t forget about social media invitations if it is a good fit with your audience). Keep in mind the formality of the event and plan appropriately.
Invitations should include:
Description of the event
Be sure to describe what the event is for and provide a little background on the individual, school or group that is being honored, if applicable.
Branding
Don’t forget to include the UMKC logo on the invitation!
Acknowledgement
The key administrator and event hosts, if applicable, should be recognized in the introductory text. For example, “Please join Chancellor Leo E. Morton and hosts Jane and John Doe in congratulating Steve Smith on his outstanding research achievements.”
