Campaign Committee Formed
The success of The Campaign for UMKC depends on the hard work and generosity of people who recognize the impact the university has on the city and the region. Leading the way is the Campaign Steering Committee, a group of volunteers who are committed to helping the university reach its fundraising and strategic goals.
Retired H&R Block Chairman Henry W. Bloch will serve as the Honorary Chair of the committee. Bloch’s lifelong support for higher education culminated with his recent $32 million gift to the university—the largest outright gift in UMKC history.
Thomas and Vina Hyde and Robert and Ann Regnier will serve as co-chairs.
Thomas Hyde, who recently retired as Executive Vice President, Legal, Ethics and Corporate Secretary, for Walmart Stores, Inc., is an alumnus of the UMKC School of Law and a member of the UMKC Board of Trustees. Vina Hyde is a retired special education teacher and active civic leader, including service as the original co-director of the Girls on the Run program in Benton County, Ark.
Robert Regnier is chairman, president & CEO of the Bank of Blue Valley and an alumnus of the UMKC Bloch School of Management. Ann Regnier is an accomplished civic leader and supporter of numerous community organizations, including Kansas City Public Television (KCPT) and the Liberty Memorial.
