The University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Computing and Engineering (SCE) has received a significant gift commitment from DST Systems, Inc., for the creation of the DST Student Services Center in Robert H. Flarsheim Science and Technology Hall on the Volker campus. To be completed this fall, this new space will be the public face of the SCE with recruiting, admissions, advising, student programming and other student services centrally located in the atrium at the main entrance on the third floor.

“Until now, our student-centered services have been distributed throughout Flarsheim Hall. We are grateful to DST for their generosity to the UMKC School of Computing and Engineering,” said UMKC vice provost and SCE dean Kevin Truman. “As one of UMKC’s fastest growing schools, DST’s philanthropic leadership will allow us to better serve current and future students, parents, and visitors in meaningful ways as we continue to grow.”

“DST has benefited from the local pipeline of current students as interns and graduates as employees,” said John Vaughn, Vice President, Business Process Solutions and Chairman, DST Catalyst Program. “As a major Kansas City employer with offices around the world, DST and its Catalyst program build upon the existing foundation of employee engagement to positively impact the quality of life in our communities and is proud of its relationship with the UMKC School of Computing and Engineering.”

Located in Kansas City, Missouri, DST is a leading provider of strategic advisory, transformative technologies and operations outsourcing to the financial and healthcare industries.
