In 1967, history professor Jim Falls brought his unique passion and spirit to UMKC, and for 42 years, he instilled in his students a deeper understanding and appreciation of the subject matter - and had a great time doing it. His ability to make personal connections with his students earned him the unofficial title of the College of Arts and Sciences’ "one-man recruitment and retention center."
Falls recently announced his retirement. While his true legacy is the lasting impact he had on his students, the College is also honoring his indomitable spirit and years of service to the University through the Jim Falls Honorary Scholarship.
Falls sent his students into the world with new knowledge and a new appreciation of the passion that can go into education. Your gift to the scholarship fund will help honor Falls for all he has given the University and the community, and help deserving students get the education they need to follow in his footsteps.
