Master of Arts: SociologyAdmission RequirementsRegular admission to graduate study typically requires a baccalaureate degree in sociology from an accredited college or university with an undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (B) in the last two years (junior and senior) of coursework, and in sociology coursework. Students should have taken undergraduate courses in social theory, research methods, and statistics (equivalent to SOC 361, 362 and 363), and have passed each of these courses with a grade of B or higher. Students who do not meet these requirements may be accepted provisionally to the program. Provisional admission means deficiencies must be remedied before being fully admitted as a degree-seeking student in the master of arts in sociology program.
