5511 Methods Of Inquiry: An Interdisciplinary History Of The 1940S (3) This course examines a decade, in this case the 1940s, from a variety of perspectives. The second world war stimulated profound changes in science, ethics, government, economics, social structures, and cultural constructions of race, class, and gender. In essence, this course will examine how America in the 1940s became increasingly "modern" and assesses the impact of those changes on the nation and the world.
