The history of 20th century economics is concerned with a number of
interdependent issues, including the institutional organization of economics at
universities; the historical development of the structures and social networks
that make-up the economic paradigms of neoclassical economics, Marxian
economics, Post Keynesian economics, and other heterodox economics; and the
role of institutional and state power to maintain the dominance of the
neoclassical paradigm. The aim of the course is to introduce students to this
institutional/organizational history.
