5501 Magazine Editing (3) A course combining academic study of editorial management, publishing operations and language skills, with "hands on" experience in article evaluation, editing, magazine production and legal matters such as copy right and libel. Class work concentrates on authentic and effective language use, with attention given to copy editing, grammar, typography, printing processes, financing and distribution, for commercial and small-press publications.
