5508 Harlem Renaissance (3) This course examines the period from 1920 to 1940, known as the Harlem Renaissance, a time of unprecedented literary and cultural creativity by Black artists. This course explores a variety of cultural productions, not only traditional forms of literature such as novels, short stories, plays and poetry, but also nonliterary objects of study such as painting, sculpture, and music.
