5566R American Economic History Since 1865 (3) The course deals with the emergence of Industrial America since 1865. It will cover the rise to dominance of the large modern corporation, with the problem of economic and social instability and stability, with the rise of trade associations, cartels, and government regulation in an unstable economy, and with the evolution of American economic policy and national economic planning. This course is the same as economics 540r.
