5552 Financial Markets And Institutions (3)
A study of structure and operation of the major financial markets. The concept
of flow of funds serves as the underlying mechanism bringing together the
various private, public, and foreign sectors as they relate to the demand for
and supply of loanable funds. Topics include consideration of short,
intermediate, and long-term credit and equity market instruments; the level and
structure of yields in financial assets; behavior of risk premiums; structure
of financial institutions; and implications of alternate policy actions.
Prerequisite: BA 532 or equivalent. Previous graduate coursework is recommended.
