5723 Radiation Biology (2) This course covers the basic principles of radiation biology, as well as radiation safety and protection. Topics such as theories of radiation action, radiation chemistry, molecular, cellular and tissue effects, early and late effects of radiation, effects of radiation therapy on the oral cavity, and concepts of radiation protection and risk assessment are presented. Satisfactory completion of a project in the area of radiation biology is required for the additional credit hour.
