5550 Theoretical Foundations In Nursing (3)
This course focuses on critical analysis of theory and the utilization of
various levels of nursing and nursing related theories as a base for nursing at
the graduate level. It further examines the inter-relationship of theory,
research and practice in the development of the scientific body of nursing
knowledge. Methods by which knowledge is gained and validated will be analyzed.
Students will synthesize several different theories from which to form the
basis of their practice. Relationships of theory, practice and research will be
discussed. Prerequisite: Admission to the MSN or PhD Program
