5564A Primary Care Of Adults II (5)
This course is designed to prepare nurse practitioner students to manage common
health problems of adults. The focus is on developmentally appropriate
preventive health care and management of common acute/episodic illnesses.
Students will integrate role competencies, professional standards, and legal
requirements essential to the NP role. Core content includes differential
diagnosis, therapeutic management, adherence, anticipatory guidance,
patient/family education, legal and professional issues, standards of practice,
and advanced practice role competencies. This course consist of 3 credit hours
of didactic and 2 credit hours of clinical (165 hours). Clinical practice and
clinical seminar comprise the clinical experience.
