5662 Psychometrics (3)
This course focuses on application of psychometric theories and practices
related to instrumentation in nursing research. The basic methodologies and
techniques for constructing, testing, and evaluating instruments will be
discussed and applied by students. Content will focus on theoretical
foundations of measurement, item construction, instrument design, item
analysis, validity and reliability assessment. Criteria for evaluating
existing instruments will also be discussed. Prerequisites: Permission of the
instructor.
