Sociology ProgramBachelor of Arts: SociologyThe department offers the bachelor of arts and master of arts degrees in sociology and participates as a co-discipline in the Interdisciplinary Ph.D. program. Sociology provides a way of seeing, of seeing through things, and of going beyond the ordinary. It encourages us to investigate the basis for our social arrangements and to explore the importance of social structure and culture. In addition to preparing students for a variety of career paths, sociology teaches us to learn effectively so that we can keep up with rapid changes in society and live meaningful, engaged, and productive lives.
