Piano Emphasis Area
Requirements
- Students must show demonstrable knowledge in all major and minor
scales and tonic arpeggios, parallel motion, and four octaves in moderately
rapid tempo.
- Students should be able to perform Bach Two- and Three-Part Inventions;
compositions corresponding in difficulty to Beethoven Sonata, Opus 14, No. 1;
Mozart Fantasia in D Minor; Chopin Nocturne, Opus 44, No. 1; Schubert
Impromptu, Opus 90, No. 4; and Debussy Arabesques.
