442R Optical Crystallography (3) Theory and practical application of polarized light microscopy in the identification and characterization of crstalline and non-crystalline materials. Special emphasis is given to use of refractive index oils and thin sections. Two hours of lecture and discussion, one 2-hour lab per week.
