304 America, 1783-1828: The National Experience (3) The two major threads of this course are the formation and implementation of the Constitution and the cultural adolescence of the new nation. Topics considered include the political bequest of the framers' generation, the growing pains of territorial expansion and industrialism, the paradoxical development of regionalism and nationalism.
