306 America, 1850-1877: Civil War And Reconstruction (3) A survey of the political, social and economic factors leading to the dissolution of the federal union is followed by a consideration of the major features and developments of the war period. This, in turn, leads to an analysis of the major factors and relationships involved in the "reconstruction" of the federal union. The course covers the years 1850 to 1877.
