413 Renaissance (3) Beginning with a definition and exploration of the Renaissance as a period of gradual transition between the Middle Ages and the beginning of modern culture, this course concerns itself primarily with the rise and spread of Humanism; the revival of interest in antiquity; the growth of individualism; and the rise of secularism, as well as with the artistic achievements of the period.
