426R The Scientific Revolution, 1500-1700 (3) An analysis of the intellectual and social currents which culminated in the Scientific Revolution. After presenting the Renaissance world view, the course will examine the influence of humanism, art, religion, and the voyages of discovery on science, as a prelude to understanding the achievements of Galileo, Harvey, Newton, and the scientific societies of the 17th century.
