410 Abnormal Language (3)
Abnormal language behaviors as clinical entities will be examined. Students
will have an opportunity to study the language and thought of the
schizophrenic, of abused and neglected children and autistic children, of
individuals with brain damage, and of individuals with fluency disorders.
Gender language and the misuse of language in the legal setting will also be
presented. Discussion of listener's attitudes toward normal, but non-standard
language, such as black dialect, will be given attention.
