430C The Experience Hlth In Aging:Community,Systems & Service Delivery (1)
This one-credit hour course is designed for students interested in
understanding the role of health, community, systems and service delivery in
the aging population. Selected special issues (such as fluid and continence,
medication use, pain and comfort, bone/joint problems) will also be discussed.
The N430C course will focus primarily on community, health systems and service
delivery as these relate to the older adult. Theoretical, empirical and applied
knowledge on aging and the health system and delivery process is presented.
This knowledge is utilized in assessing and interpreting the influences of the
community and health care delivery systems on health. This knowledge may also
be used in developing strategies for the promotion, restoration, and
maintenance of health in the aging population.
