483 Manufacturing Automation (3)
This course covers fundamentals underlying contemporary manufacturing
automation. The following two aspects of manufacturing automation will be
emphasized: (1) computer based systems for automating and controlling
manufacturing processes such as numericaly controlled machining and material
handling robots; and (2) use of software systems in facilitating information
exchange between different components of manufacturing decision support
systems. The course will be taught using a project-based learning approach.
Prerequisites: ME 319 and ME 380
