The Committee is a student-led, student-directed group. We have enlisted assistance from experienced administrators to help us guide and move the project forward! We are excited and dedicated. We want to provide other UMKC students like you with opportunities to be a voice, be heard! We challenge you to share ideas that help influence and shape the future of our New Student Union!

A Message from the Student Union Committee Chair
Welcome to the New Student Union website! It’s a brand new school year, and I know you are looking for ways to get involved. I invite you to check us out at one of our meetings. We want you!  We want to hear your ideas and to work with you on the development of our New Student Union. 

My vision for the coming year revolves around “ownership” and “impact.”  Ownership in that everyone believes they are an integral part in building our Student Union Community. With everyone involved, doing their part—impacting the future of our campus—we have a tremendous opportunity and responsibility to influence our campus and to make a difference. Let’s take our ideas from paper to reality: A New Student Union Building!
