The newest addition to the campus, this science and technology center was completed for the start of the fall 1999 semester. It was named after Robert A. Flarsheim, UMKC benefactor, who resided for many years in a home just south of the Residence Hall. When Mr. Flarsheim passed away, he left a $9 million endowment to the university for campus beautification. Flarsheim Hall was constructed at a cost of $29.9 million and is the largest building on campus. It houses the Chemistry, Geosciences and Physics departments as well as the Computer Science/Telecommunications and Engineering programs.
