Grant Hall is one of two buildings used by UMKC’s Conservatory of Music
and Dance and the Theatre department. The Conservatory has earned national
and international recognition through its music and dance performance,
composition, teaching and scholarship programs. Established in 1906,
the Conservatory boasts more than 80 faculty who are world-class scholars,
artists, teachers and leaders in their fields. It is the most comprehensive
music and dance education center in the Midwest.
Grant Hall – formerly a Kansas City elementary school – now houses
music and theatre offices, classrooms and studios, a recital hall and
an electronic piano lab.
