Newcomb Hall, the second building constructed specifically for the University of Kansas City, was designed as a library.  It was named after Ernest H. Newcomb, who managed the university in its first years.  Newcomb Hall now houses offices, the University Archives, the Edgar Snow Collection and the Western Historical Manuscript Collection.
