DONATIONS TO THE GRADUATE ASSISTANCE FUND

-
"Being a recipient of a Women's Council Graduate Achievement
Fellowship provided much needed financial support. More
importantly, however, it was validating and affirming of
the relevance of my studies. This moral support greatly
helped counteract some of the discrimination I felt
regarding my goals and priorities."
– Joanne C. Hindman, Ph.D., psychologist and
psychoanalyst in private practice
Separate from membership dues, all contributions to the Graduate Assistance Fund go into the GAF endowment, permitting endowment earnings to be used solely for student fellowships and immediate aid grants. Individuals who wish to make a contribution to the endowment do so through annual pledges, establishing a named award, or through contributions of estate gifts, stocks, securities or other property.
The Women's Council is an affiliate within the UKC Trustees. This means your gift is tax deductible to the full extent of the tax law under IRS Code 501(c)(3). Pledge your support today.
Create a lasting legacy through a named award
Named awards are valuable not only as a means of providing assistance -- they forge lasting links between the University and the contributing individuals and organizations within the community. The contributor may offer the award for study in a particular school or academic field, or for a more general application. The name of the award is also largely up to the contributor, who may like to have the award offered under her or his name or under the name of another.
Estate planning and securities and property donations
The GAF endowment also accepts marketable securities and other property. Let us know if this is your wish, and we can help you with the process. Many individuals choose to create a lasting legacy by including GAF in their estate planning.
Matching gifts programs
When making your contribution, you should consider whether your employer offers a matching gifts program. Such a program could double your donation. If your employer does not have a matching gifts program, we can help you provide appropriate information to help them get one started.
We can help you with any questions you may have.
