Relevant page titles are required as they help improve the overall UMKC search results. Customize the title of each page to match the content. Keep in mind that page titles affect the links users choose.
For consistency, UMKC branding page titles should follow:
- College of Arts and Sciences
- Conservatory of Music and Dance
- Henry W. Bloch School of Business and Public Administration
- School of Biological Sciences
- School of Computing and Engineering
- School of Dentistry
- School of Education
- School of Graduate Studies
- School of Law
- School of Medicine
- School of Nursing
- School of Pharmacy
- University Libraries
Department of (name of department) or just the name of the department on its own
Example: Department of Physics or Physics
Centers, Institutes & Affiliates
Center of (name of center) or (name of center) Center
Institute of (name of institute)
Use the name of the organization.
Do not use acronyms in page titles. These are terms familiar only to internal UMKC audiences. Because Web sites speak to both internal and external audiences, an acronym in the page title should not be the first identification or reference encountered by a Web user.
