There are several ways you can visit campus and learn more about UMKC. Most options include a UMKC overview presentation that highlights our history, academic programs, support services, admission requirements, tuition, scholarships and more, along with a walking tour of campus. Academic Open Houses

For High School Students

An extended version of our weekday visit, our academic open house is a great opportunity for you to learn specifics about your major of choice and meet staff and/or faculty. The visit includes an overview presentation of UMKC and a walking tour of campus.


Academic Introductions

For Transfer Students

Want to get a tour and ask questions about your potential major? You can schedule a weekday visit for general UMKC information and/or connect with a representative from your academic area who can talk about degree requirements and answer specific questions you may have.


Preview Day

For High School and Transfer Students

Offered several times a semester, Preview Days are comprehensive, half-day programs where you will not only have a UMKC overview presentation and tour, but also speak with representatives from academic programs and student organizations. Register for one of our upcoming Preview Days now:

Weekday Visit

For High School and Transfer Students

During a Weekday Visit, which is over an hour and a half, you will learn about UMKC through the overview presentation and take a walking tour of campus led by a current student. The general visits occur several times a day throughout the week, please select a time from the below menu to see corresponding available dates


Group Visit

If you have a group of ten or more students who would like to visit campus, please review our group visit policy. We will do our best to build a customized visit based on the availability of date, time and activities.


Graduate Students

All graduate students interested in admission into any of our numerous graduate programs will need to meet with an academic advisor in their area of graduate studies. If you are interested in graduate studies and would still like to take a campus tour only, please contact the Welcome Center at 816-235-8652.
