Addie Aldridge Gordon (1887-1973) Papers (KC0068)
Addie Aldridge, born in Cass County, Missouri, was the daughter of Absolom (Dick) Aldridge who moved his family to Missouri in 1855. Addie received a good education in the Cass County schools and went on to teach there before her marriage to Charles C. Gordon. During the 1930's Mrs. Gordon's daughter, Mrs. L. Gordon Lichty, asked her to write her childhood recollections. Written on small pieces of paper, they were typed and organized into chapters by Mrs. Lichty.
The papers contain the various drafts, additions, and notes of the memoirs of Addie Aldridge Gordon concerning both her own childhood and stories handed down by her parents and other family members. 1855-1943.
