Leason Business Records (KC0151)
The Leason family of Sheboygan Falls, Wisconsin, traced their ancestors to the Balch family of Massachusetts. They resided in Rhode Island, probably in or near Providence, prior to moving to Wisconsin.
These records consist of six volumes of account books dating from 1832 to 1846 and from 1863 to 1864. Three of the volumes, those from the earlier years, were recycled as scrapbooks. The clippings pasted into these volumes included poetry, biographical clippings and other materials extracted from newspapers and other sources. The scrapbooks were photocopied before being disassembled to reveal the original account books. The business records appear to relate to a dry goods establishment. 1832-1864.
