Lone Star School District Records (KC0161)
The Lone Star School in Howard Township, Gentry County, Missouri, operated at least for the period from 1884-1895. The 1882 history of Gentry County does not include mention of the school in its discussion of Lone Star and Howard Townships. One source, Recollections of the Early Days in Gentry County, indicated that the Lone Star School, originally a log structure, had classes at least as early as 1857.
This collection consists of a one-volume transcription of records transcribed in 1982 from the original Lone Star School District Records. The transcription includes names of tax payers for the district, minutes of the school board's meetings, lists of teachers for the school, financial records, and enumeration lists. 1884-1895.
