University Medical College of Kansas City Records (KC0185)
The University Medical College of Kansas City, Missouri, was founded in 1881 by a number of local medical practitioners who recognized the educational need of medical reform. In 1905, under the pressure of the American Medical Association to raise the standard of Medical Colleges of the United States, many accredited medical colleges were absorbed by state universities. However, the University Medical College decided to remain independent and continued until 1913, when it went out of existence.
This collection contains attendance records, programs, directories and photographs. The bulk of the collection is college announcements giving the schedule of the classes for the upcoming year, lists of the faculty and students, and descriptions of the classes. 1892-1937.
