Man of the Month Fraternity Records (KC0189)

The Man of the Month Fraternity grew out of a series of articles in Swing published by WHB Broadcasting Company in Kansas City, Missouri. Beginning in 1946, Swing selected a prominent Kansas Citian for a feature article on the "Man of the Month." In 1948, those so honored formed the Man of the Month Fraternity. The Fraternity has no membership fee, no initiation fee, and no dues. Members of the fraternity review formal nominations and vote on new members. Those so selected are honored at an initiation luncheon.

These records consist of a listing of members of the Man of the Month Fraternity from 1946 to 1985. Biographical articles on Man of the Month Fraternity members which appeared in WHB's Swing magazine from 1947 to 1953 are included in the collection as are biographical statements on many club members inducted between 1964 and 1985. 1946-1985.
