Another Ward Parkway house which received considerable attention for its exterior garden plantings was the Dan W. Moser house near Meyer Circle. It went up about the same time as the Pendergast house seven blocks north. This Hare and Hare color sketch indicates the planting scheme as designed to enhance a swimming pool area in the rear of the house. Moser owned a cigar company, a major industry in Kansas City in the 1920s. The swimming pool appears to have been intended primarily for use by Moser’s grandchildren.
