One very active architect in the Country Club District and across the country was Edward Delk who came to Kansas City after World War I at the request of J. C. Nichols. The land developer wanted to increase the number of outstanding architects from whose designs his lot purchasers could choose. Early on, Delk’s small office was located on the west side of Meyer Circle. One of the best known Delk designs was the initial projected plan for the Country Club Plaza shown elsewhere in this exhibit.
