One of the prominent institutions located on Ward Parkway, the Country Day School [now Pembroke Hill] was founded in 1910 by Vassie James Ward. This photo illustrates the J. C. Nichols Company-sponsored field days at Country Day for school children and public and private educational institutions throughout the residential District.
