The University of Missouri - Kansas City Divisions of Diversity, Access and Equity and Student Affairs and Enrollment Management will host the 8th Annual Women of Color Leadership Conference (formerly the Black Women Leaders Conference.) This year's program includes dynamic speakers addressing critical topics for our community. Last year's program served over 350 Girls of Color from our local high schools and provided support to hundreds of Women of Color in our metropolitan community looking to enhance their personal and professional development.
We write to you today to ask for your support for the Women of Color Leadership Conference in the following ways:
- Encouraging the attendance of Women and High School Girls of Color in the metropolitan area.
- Consider a donation to help cover the expenses of this important program and recognized at the conference.
Financially - as you know, the challenging economic climate has created more difficulties and made visible the many cracks in our systems that have long been overlooked. The Women of Color Leadership Conference has again elected to host this year's event for FREE making it possible for all women and high school girls to participate regardless of their current economic situation.
To show your support, you may submit a donation online or download and mail the completed Sponsorship Form along with your donation to: UMKC Women of Color Leadership Conference, Attn: Kimberly Johnson, 5100 Rockhill Road, Admin Center 359, Kansas City MO, 64110.
Please submit your sponsorship by Friday, April 26, 2013, to ensure inclusion in printed conference materials. If you have any questions, please contact Kimberly Johnson at firstname.lastname@example.org or 816-235-1027.
Thank you for your contribution to this important annual event and for your ongoing support of equity in our Kansas City community.
