UMKC Password Information

As a UMKC student, faculty or staff member you have access to a host of online services using your UMKC Username and Password . Visit our UMKC Username Information page for more about services available to you with this account.

 

As a security measure, UMKC Passwords (not O365 email) expire every 180 days. You will receive an email notification to your UMKC email account at 21 days, 7 days and 1 day in advance of your password expiration. Follow the instructions in the email to change your password. If you fail to change your password before the expiration don't worry - you can still use the Password Change Tool to change your password as long as you know the most recent password.

 

If you don't know your UMKC Username contact the IS Call Center via phone at 816.235.2000 or email at callcenter@umkc.edu.

 

If you don't know your Office 365 student email password, use our Office 365 password reset tool. Log in with your UMKC Username and Password.

Change Your UMKC Password

If you know your current UMKC Username and Password please click on the yellow icon below to change your password.
Change Your SSO Password

Reset/Create Your UMKC Password

If you are a student who does not know your current UMKC Password (not O365 email) please click on the corresponding blue icon below to reset your password. You will need to know your Student or Employee ID to recover or create your password.
Students

If you are a Faculty or Staff person and don't know your UMKC Username or Password contact the IS Call Center or your departmental IT Liaison.

Set or Reset your Office 365 Student Email Password

If you are a student and don't know your Office 365 student email password, use our Office 365 Password reset tool. Log in with your UMKC Username and Password and you will be prompted to enter a new password for your student O365 email account.

Locked Account

Your account will become locked if you enter the wrong password 3 times. If you are receiving a message at logon that your account is locked you have two options:
  1. Wait 30 minutes. Your account will automatically become unlocked after a period of 30 minutes.
  2. If you need immediate access to your account during business hours, please call the IS Call Center at 816.235.2000.
