Admission Confirmation

We couldn't be any happier that you've chosen UMKC for your education! We're here to help you navigate the process of officially becoming a Roo.

Accept Your Offer of Admission

The first step to becoming a Roo is to accept your offer of admission. You can do this by logging in to the Admission Acceptance Form on your application status page and paying the mandatory confirmation fee with a credit card - $150 for first-time college students or $100 for transfer students.  This confirmation fee is valid for one academic year.

This fee covers several fees for new students.

  • New student Orientation fee (guests pay a separate fee)
  • New student and first-year programming such as Convocation and Welcome Week
  • UMKC OneCard

Confirmation fee refund

You may receive a refund of your conformation fee until May 1. Simply contact us before May 1 to request a refund.

Confirmation fee deferment

You may request a confirmation fee deferment on the Admission Acceptance Form on your application status page. If the fee is deferred, it will be added to your UMKC bill and must be paid when the bill is due.

Deferment qualifications

  • Received an application fee waiver
  • Eligible for a federal Pell Grant
  • Received an ACT/SAT fee waiver
  • Participated in federal free or reduced lunch program

If a program is going to cover the cost of your confirmation fee, please type the name of the organization on the Admission Acceptance Form on your application status page. The fee will be deferred until we receive the payment from the organization.
