Future Roo Day

Future Roo Day is an opportunity for admitted undergraduate students and their families, except those in the School of Medicine and audition- or portfolio-based programs in the Conservatory, to visit campus, meet faculty members, learn about life on campus and explore UMKC resources.

Academic Support and Mentoring

UMKC’s Academic Support and Mentoring (ASM) office provides students with a wide range of services and programs to ensure that every UMKC student develops the skills necessary to succeed. ASM includes UMKC Tutoring, Supplemental Instruction, and the Writing Studio, and provides mentoring support through programs such as Summer Bridge Scholars and First Gen Roo.

Campus Recreation

Whether you’re interested in the fitness center, playing intramural sports, fitness classes, swimming in the pool or just looking for a pickup game, Campus Recreation - located in the Swinney Center - has it all. Enjoy the facility and programs through your student membership, which includes access to the fitness center, five multipurpose basketball courts, racquetball courts, fitness studios, aquatics center and recreational fields. Campus Recreation is here to help you be well, be active, and be you!

Exploratory Student Workshop

Are you wondering about major options at UMKC? Questions about how students find the right major? This session will use interest assessment information to prompt the process of choosing a good fitting major at UMKC and resources that will support this process on campus. 

This session will be offered only on March 6th.

Financial Aid 101

Navigate Financial Aid with Confidence!  In this session we will help guide you through important timelines, explain how to understand your financial aid offer, and explore what next steps you can take to ensure you're financially prepared for the upcoming semester.

Join the Division of Student Affairs to learn more about finding your community on campus. Hear from current UMKC student leaders and staff to discover programs, resources and organizations available to you to get connected with your fellow students at UMKC. 

Honors Program

Expand your scholarly horizons through the Honors Program, which offers a challenging academic environment and a tight-knit community. Join this session for a class-like discussion with current Honors Program faculty.

Men of Character Academy

Discover opportunities to grow and succeed from DAY ONE! Through intentional programming and a supportive network of peers and mentors, the Men of Character Academy (MoCA) fosters a strong sense of community while equipping students with the tools and resources needed to thrive in college and beyond. This session will introduce leadership development, mentorship opportunities, and programs designed to help you thrive academically, personally, and professionally. Join us in discovering how MoCA can help you make the most of your college experience and prepare for life after graduation.

Residential Life

Living on campus is a unique and rewarding experience. In this session, current residents will discuss their involvement with UMKC Residential Life, including the benefits of living on campus, how to access resources that will encourage academic success, how to share space with a roommate, and how to get involved in hall leadership positions.

UMKC Libraries

Discover your scholar style with UMKC Libraries! We’ll assess your study style and match it with a roadmap for academic success. This session will share library resources for effective research, time management, and leveraging expert assistance. It will conclude by exploring the library's spaces, services, relics and book storage robot. Librarians are your partners to working smarter, not harder!
