Virtual Orientation FAQs

For the health and safety of our entire UMKC community, Orientation is moving online for Summer 2020.
This transition understandably brings a lot of questions. We're here to help you answer them and make your experience as smooth as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions

Orientation is mandatory for all incoming first-time college/freshmen students entering in the Fall Semester. The college experience is new for these students, and the information shared at Orientation will be critical to getting a strong start at UMKC.

Orientation is also mandatory for transfer students with 24 or fewer credit hours entering in the Fall Semester. Transfer students with more than 24 credits are not required to attend Orientation, though it is highly encouraged. All transfer students are required to meet directly with their academic advisor(s) before scheduling their first semester of classes. For more information about Summer Transfer Orientation, visit our Transfer Orientation page.
