Returning Roos

If you've taken a few semesters off as a degree-seeking UMKC student and want to come back, you can request to re-enroll as a returning student or apply for readmission.

Requirements to re-enroll

You Can Afford to Come Back

We don't want the fear of going further into debt deter you from returning for your degree. We provide scholarships for returning undergraduate students.

Automatic scholarships

If you were recently enrolled at UMKC as an undergradute student and received an automatic scholarship, we may be able to reinstate your award.

Competitive scholarships

Returning students are eligible to apply for competitive scholarships.

Do I Have to Start Over?

Previously enrolled degree-seeking undergraduate and graduate students may request to re-enroll in their program if they have been away from UMKC for a limited time and did not enroll at another college.

Graduate students

Request to re-enroll if you have been out of your advanced degree program for less than two consecutive Fall and Spring semesters. You must also meet the requirements to re-enroll.

How Do I Apply for Readmission?

If you do not meet the requirements for re-enrollment, you must apply to UMKC for readmission. But there's good news — you do not have to pay the application fee this time. Students who have taken courses at another college in their time away from UMKC must apply as a transfer student.
