Who Can Apply?

If you're an incoming first-time college or transfer student admitted to UMKC with at least a 2.5 GPA and 24 credit hours for transfer students, you will be invited to apply through your UMKC status page.

The application deadline for Fall 2022 has been extended to April 1.

How Will Professional Career Escalators Help Me Pay for School?

As a Professional Career Escalators student, first-time college and transfer Roos are eligible to receive one of these scholarships each year for four years.

  • On-campus housing - $2,500 per year
  • UMKC tuition - $1,500 per year

How Does Professional Career Escalators Work?

Each semester, you will participate in the five career-oriented Career Escalators: Core Experiences.

  1. Career guidance and development
  2. Mentoring with faculty experts and community professionals
  3. Job shadowing and internships
  4. Graduate and professional school preparation
  5. Career Escalators Leadership Credential

While studying your chosen subject matter, you will be making professional connections, through mentorships, internships and job shadowing, to area organizations and businesses who work in a related field.
