You belong here. Whether you’re a military veteran or student service member, UMKC has programs and services in place to make sure you get all the support you need to reach your goals.

We understand the transition from the military to civilian life can be challenging. And when you add college into the mix, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. That’s why UMKC has resources for veterans to help, so you never feel like you’re doing this alone.

  • The At Ease Zone is an on-campus meeting place where veterans and military-connected students can ask questions and get help with any problems they’re having, whether it’s school-related or a personal issue.
  • UMKC also has student-run groups, like the Student Veterans Organization and Military Veterans Law Association, where you can connect with students who have similar interests.

Veteran Brings Army Experience to UMKC's Physician Assistant Program

“As you move up the ranks in the military, you’re always looking behind you to train your subordinates and bring them up as well. Those opportunities gave me a great deal of experience with the student-teacher and mentor-mentee dynamic.”
