Pharmacists dispense prescription medications to patients and offer expertise in the safe use of prescriptions.
Pharmacy program requirements vary by school. Some programs allow students to complete their prerequisite coursework as pre-pharmacy students (such as UMKC’s School of Pharmacy) and then apply to be admitted to the Pharmacy Doctoral (PharmD) program, whereas others require or give preference to students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree, so it is important to confirm the requirements for each school to which you are planning to apply.
