After studying math and music in undergrad and completing two terms with AmeriCorps, Kim completed her M.Ed. while working as a high school math teacher and occasional adjunct. Throughout her education and first career, she learned that using resources and prioritizing human connections can be equally as important as mastering content knowledge. In life and in work, it’s important to develop a balanced toolbox!
Guided by this philosophy, Kim enjoys helping students identify their personal and academic priorities to chart an efficient and fulfilling path forward. Her 15 years in teaching provide an appreciation for students just beginning their university journey. As a transfer student herself, she also enjoys helping transfer students navigate and orient to the UMKC community. It's always a good time to jump in and Roo up!
Kim loves spending time outside with her dogs, singing in choirs, coffee with friends, family walks, and enjoying the 'math of life' beyond the classroom.
